15 things I've learnt from my first time backpacking!

15 things I've learnt from my first time backpacking...

Its been over a year now since I have returned home from my first backpacking experience. Below are 15 things I have learnt from that experience.

  1.  Always carry necessary toiletries with you... you never know if your rucksack will go missing. Mine was left in Hong Kong airport. Dior J adore in joy being used as a deodorant isn't wonderful!
  2. After 3 weeks you will feel like you have been away for months.
  3. All your day to day worries and habits from home will disappear within 3 weeks- you will feel free as a bird!
  4. You WILL develop a love/hate relationship with your rucksack. P.s Packing cubes were my lifesaver!
  5. You will start to question why you have packed so much stuff!! ( honestly guys when packing.. pack your stuff, unpack, half it and you will probably still have too much stuff!)
  6. You will live for the spontaneous adventure days. The days you rent a scooter and ride round exploring the new island your visiting!
  7. Some days you will just want to chill and watch the sunset but that is okay too!
  8. You will get home sick... Face Time and Skype are a godsend for this! Trust me!
  9. You will fall in love with every country/city you visit and never want to leave...
  10. Until you reach your next destination
  11. You will 100% forget what it feels like to sleep on a normal mattress!
  12. You wont have a clue what day it is. Ever! I loved this about travelling
  13. You will learn a lot about life. Nothing like diving out of your comfort zones guys!
  14. You will definitely meet unforgettable people.
  15. Your biggest worry the whole time your away will be how you will adjust back to normal life once you are home...
